Project Description:
Target approached me to design mural installation for their newest Hawai’i location in Lihu’e. This design was meant to celebrate the fun and vibrant lifestyle in Kaua’i in a fresh modern way. For this installation we created the artwork digitally, and it was printed out as a large scale wallpaper for a featured wall.

Project Description: I was asked to create a design for Sephoras social media channels that would help them celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month.

Description: This brief for this editorial illustration was to speak to the lonely winter that was coming ahead for most people, who in 2020, were facing months of isolation due to the pandemic.

Client: Amazon Prime Video
Description: The task for this job was to celebrate AAPI Heritage month and create colorful illustrations to elevate photography of some of Amazon PRIMES favorite actors. The assets were used across all of APV social media platforms.
Client: Town Center of Mililani
Description: This pandemic has been hard, especially on our first responders and elderly. The client wanted me to create a graphic that could be printed and installed at a display window in the Town Center of Mililani Shopping center that would show our “mahalo” or gratitude to the nurses and community who are all doing their part to help.
Client: AT&T
Description: To help celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I was commissioned by AT&T to create a digital graphic that was displayed on their massive 104 ft tall outdoor LED screen located at their Discovery District in Dallas Texas.
Client: Manoa Chocolate
Description: Manoa Chocolate contacted me about creating artwork for their newest line of chocolate bars, “Flavors of Hawaii”. They wanted unique packaging that would not only jump off the shelves, but would feel very Hawaii and tropical, with some vintage and modern flair. My signature style is illustrating women of polynesia, so we really jumped right in with that look and feel and came up with some fun, Polynesian-centric artwork.

Client: Hawaii Gives Back Magazine
Description: Hawaii Magazine is an annual magazine that highlights philanthropic and charitable organizations throughout Hawaii. AD Elena Bragg only asked that I create an image with a woman blowing heart kisses. I decided to create a whimsical scene where the heart kisses were becoming a part of the landscape. The love she is putting out is helping to grow her community.
Client: Foodland
Description: This fun project titled “Give Aloha Grow” was an initiative started by Foodland who I partnered with to create this image and slogan to be used on canvas totes and tshirts sold on their online store as well as their physical stores throughout the Hawaiian islands. For each bag and shirt sold, Foodland was able to donate a meal to a family in need.
Client: Mamalani
Project Description: Mamalani is a Hawai’i based and Hawaiian owned natural skin care business based in Kailua. Mamalani wanted a map created of her hometown of Kailua that felt like a more ‘aina (land) based depitction of what Hawai’i once was, and what it could be: more agriculture and more “aloha”.
Client: Patagonia Honolulu
Description: For this project, 5 O’ahu based artists were paired with a local non profit to create an art piece that would be auctioned off at the opening of the new Patagonia location in Honolulu, Hawaii. I was paired with The Ko’olau Mountains Watershed Partnership, an organization made up of community volunteers and workers who help to maintain the health our natural water ecosystem by digging out invasive plant species and helping to cultivate our native plants like Ohia, which are integral to maintaining our natural water systems. This design went all the way to final before we ultimately decided on going in another design direction. But I was really happy with how this “hand cycle” turned out, so I thought it would be worth it to share.
Client: Foodland
Description: Foodland approached me to create a digital illustration for their annual “Give Aloha” campaign. The artwork was used on totes, with proceeds being donated to participating organizations. It was also animated an used as a 15 sec commercial spot aired statewide.
Client: Rogue Wave Toys
Project Description: Rogue Wave Toys is a start-up toy company that uses plant-based plastics to create sustainable beach toys. I created this illustration for them to be used on promotional marketing and any other marketing materials and collateral. The characters in the illustration are based on desings I created for them that they used to create beach molds.
Client: Guess
Description: The Art Director of Guess asked me to join her design team for a promotional project for Guess 2020. I was asked to design cards with the theme of “2020” and a design that would show off landmarks of the cities world wide that have a Guess store. These two designs were chosen to be in the pack of 20 cards. I have also included a few of my favorites that didn’t make the cut….but still deserve a little love!

Description: Nia Tero is a worldwide organization that advocates for indigenous spaces and cultures. I was approached to create this poster to elevate a recent song entitled “Rooted”, written by Mia Kami, a Tongan woman living in Fiji.
Client: Hawaii Business Magazine
Description: This Issue of Hawaii Business Magazine celebrates Hawaii’s Best places to work! I was given the task to create a vibrant cover that describes a mash-up of all sorts of different work places. The full page feature illustration was to work as a supplemental illustration, utilizing the same color scheme, and depicting a group of diverse workers celebrating.

Description: Hawaii Magazine asked me to create an image that could be used on bags, hats, and stickers that they could hand out at the Hawaii annual Spam Jam Festival, to help promote magazine subscriptions
Client: Wrappily and Shop Small Hawaii
Description: In collaboration with Wrappily, an eco friendly wrapping paper company, and Shop Small Hawaii, an organization that supports small businesses in Hawaii, I was asked to design a “Hawaii Holiday” themed, double sided wrapping paper, gift tags, and packaging. I chose to go a more colorful route than the traditional Christmas pallet and designed a Mary Blair inspired pattern on one side, and a Hawaiian Snowflake design on the other side, inspired by traditional Hawaiian quilt patterns.
Client: Mahina Made
Project Description: Ho’omau Hawai’i Market is a new market in Hawai’i hosted by Mahine Made, a locally owned small business who produces locally designed prouducts. The market hosts Hawai’i owned and Kanaka Ma’oli owned small businesses. This illustration was created as the main artwork for the market, used on tote bags and marketing collateral.
Client: Personal Project
Description: I got a little too excited about being invited to paint a mural at the annual PowWow mural festival in Kaka’kao, Oahu, so I of course had to make a special design just to announce that I’d be participating. I ended making this into stickers and passed them out while I painted my mural.
Client: Personal collaboration with The Keiki Dept.
Description: The characters in the Kupua Collection came about simply because I wanted to make cute versions of some of my favorite characters from Hawaiian stories. These were released as a mini print pack and sticker pack. All character, labels, and packaging were designed by Punky Aloha Studio.
Client: Kuhiawaho
Description: This project was more of a personal project that I did with Kuhiawaho, a lo’i (taro patch) located on O’ahu. I created this image of their lo’i in exchange for a pohaku ku’i ai (poi pounder). I was very happy with how it turned out. Proceeds from the sale of this print go directly back to the lo’i.
Client: Southwest Magazine
Description: The AD asked that I create a half page illustration for an article describing the benefits of managing an office with the aloha spirit and how it promote a better more productive work environment.
Client: Ho’olana Pua
Description: I was approached by Ho’olana Pua to create a series of flyers and banner for each of the Hawaiian Islands for a educational symposium. Ho’olana Pua is an organization that help and supports women caught in sex trafficking in Hawai’i, but they wanted the imagery to positive and uplifting. I assigned each island the official color of the island with their official flower throughout their flower motif. I also included a silouhuette of a recognizable mountain for each island.
Client: The Happy Haku
Description: The Happy Haku is one of Kailua’s premier Haku and Lei Po’o (floral crowns) makers. I was asked to create a design that could be used as a marketing tool to be used across several different outlets like marketing postcards, tags, and social media posts. The client only said, think pink and think Tiki Room, but for Hakus, and I said, say no more.
Client: Erin Smith
Description: Erin Smith is a certified rockstar and I was honored when she asked me to create artwork for her new single “Element”. A dancey pop single about the chemistry between a new firey love creating a new element.
Client: Melanin Base Camp
Description: Melanin Base Camp is an organization that promotes diversity and visibility in outdoor sports for the People of Color and LGBTQ communities. I was asked to create a fun design that could be used as their Facebook Cover photo.
Client: Charleston In and Out
Description: I was asked to create a design for the cover of the Charleston In and Out seasonal magazine. The AD asked that I create something that included landmarks and shopping…and colors…lots of bright fun colors!
Client: Savvy Weddings
Description: I was asked to create a welcome sign for the newlyweds that would incorporate their names and an illustrated map of the island. Nothing is more fun than an illustrated map! While this one may not help you navigate your way without getting lost, I still was able to fine a fun way to border their names using main landmarks of the NSWE Oahu.
I love vintage Travel posters, and really wanted to do a few in a square format with a graphic approach. This one hits many of Portlands iconic structures with a central hipster character.
Client: Private Commission
Description: This design was a private commission for an expectant mother of Native American descent. She wanted an image that depicted a strong Native American woman heading into her new journey as a mother with hints of Hawaiian landscape and a buffalo, which is her spirit animial given to her by her tribe.
